Yamalube Maximizes Reliability, Dependability, and Durability
of Proven Off-Road Engines
Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, introduces the GP Racing Spec and Hi-Performance full synthetic Yamalube engine oils for superior performance applications. Yamalube is the only oil specifically made for the unique demands, operating characteristics, and specifications of Yamaha engines. These two new additions round out the Yamalube engine oil lineup, providing quality options for a variety of users and environments: from weekend adventure seekers to pure-sport racing enthusiasts.
Yamalube’s new GP Racing Spec and Hi-Performance full synthetic oils are both available in SAE 10W-40 4T, with a modern balanced formulation designed for the superior performance and maximum durability necessary for today’s advanced, high-revving engine parts. All Yamalube engine oils are proprietary, thoroughly tested, and made in corroboration with Yamaha engine designers and global oil engineers to meet and exceed industry standards, including the Japanese Automotive Standards Organization for four-stroke engines (JASO MA) and the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) SL requirements.
As the pinnacle of Yamalube’s ultra-high-performance engine oils, the GP Racing Spec is the newest generation of Yamalube’s 50-plus year lineage of competition blends. Derived from the same oil used in Yamaha’s YZR-M1 MotoGP bike, the new GP Racing Spec oil is blended using advanced additives for high thermal resistance, making it the ideal oil for the pure sport YXZ1000R and YFZ450R in closed-course racing and other extreme environments. Classified as a JASO MA2, the GP Racing Spec oil maximizes engine power and enhances overall clutch and shifting performance with its extreme anti-wear and anti-friction properties. With an advanced-additive system designed to maximize a racing engine’s power and effectiveness, the GP Racing Spec oil is recommended for use in a maximum of two motos before being changed.
Classified as JASO MA for everyday full synthetic use in any of Yamaha’s Proven Off-Road ATV or Side-by-Side vehicle requiring 10W-40, Yamalube’s new Hi-Performance engine oil provides superior performance, durability, thermal stability, and fuel efficiency by using only fully synthesized base oil.
Yamaha’s proprietary 4-stroke engine oils are backed by an industry-exclusive Yamalube Advantage, providing a 20-year or 100,000-mile (5,000 hours of operation on vehicles without an odometer) limited engine warranty on the performance of qualifying vehicles. Further details are available at YamalubeAdvantage.com.

Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative Continues Tradition of Protecting Outdoor Recreation
Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, employees continued their annual tradition of volunteering under the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative (OAI) in support of work projects on public lands – this year in both California and Georgia.
“Yamaha employees are investing personal time and actively working to protect access to land for outdoor recreation,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s Motorsports group marketing manager. “What started with a small group of Yamaha volunteers in Southern California has grown over a decade into coast-to-coast efforts with employees in multiple states on two different National Forests getting hands-on with their friends and families. As shown from our dedication for over a decade, the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative is an important program to all of us at Yamaha and all who value our public lands.”
In October, employees visited the San Bernardino National Forest, working alongside the Southern California Mountains Foundation crew planting seedlings, mulching, watering, slashing, and generally improving trails and areas around the popular Big Pine Flats OHV staging area.
Then in November, Yamaha employees supported work projects in Georgia on the Davenport Mountain OHV trails in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest alongside members of the United States Forestry Service (USFS) to clean and restore trails, along with improving entry for public recreation.
“Outdoor recreation is a major part of our lives, and with Yamaha’s longstanding history to giving back, and continued expansion in Georgia, we’re proud to grow the volunteer event to our new headquarters on the East Coast, allowing Yamaha employees across the country the opportunity to support and aid the outdoor community,” Nessl said.
For more than a decade, Yamaha OAI has led the motorized recreation industry in creating and defending access to land through efforts promoting safe, responsible use of OHVs, educating the public on proper recreational land use and wildlife conservation practices, and protecting appropriate and sustainable access to public lands for generations.
In addition to Yamaha’s employee volunteer events, Yamaha OAI contributed nearly $4 million in funding and equipment to more than 300 deserving grant recipients across the country over the past 11 years and has pledged $500,000 to support projects in 2019. Yamaha continues to seek OAI grant recipients for projects from ATV, Side-by-Side, motorcycle, snowmobile, and outdoor enthusiasts and associations – all of whom share the common need for land access to enjoy their lifestyle. In SxS racing, bLU cRU driver Robert Stout (above) earned the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series championship in the Production 1000 class with his Magic Dry / Yawpower / Yamaha YXZ1000R, earning the $15,000 bLU cRU racing bonus. Trailing by only four points, bLU cRU racer and two-time Production 1000 champion, Brock Heger, finished second in the series, securing six first-place finishes in the season in his BH Motorsports / Yamaha / Weller Racing / Maxxis-backed YXZ1000R.
In September, fellow YXZ racer CJ Greaves captured the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Midwest championship Pro Stock class and $15,000 bLU cRU bonus in his Monster Energy / Maxxis / Yamalube / GYTR / Greaves Motorsports / Yamaha YXZ1000R. With Yamaha as the presenting sponsor of the Pro Stock class in the world-debut Chasing the Triple series by SXS Sports, featuring ice, short course, and cross-country SxS racing, the YXZ1000R was the official pace vehicle for the year and continued to lead the way in the Pro Stock and Sportsman SxS classes. In Pro Stock, Scott Wasz took the number one plate with his Dirt Syndicates / Yamaha YXZ1000R, followed by Rodney Van Eperen in his Powersports 1 / Yamalube / GYTR / Beyond Redline / Bayland Building / Yamaha YXZ1000R. For the Sportsman class, the podium-proven YXZ1000R was the vehicle of choice by 24 of the 30 racers, additionally taking the top 11 spots.
In ATV racing, reigning GNCC XC1 Pro ATV champion, Walker Fowler earned his fifth-straight title and the $10,000 bLU cRU championship bonus in his WFR / GBC / Fly Racing-backed Yamaha YFZ450R, earning a 79-point lead with nine first-place finishes. Fellow YFZ450R racer Brycen Neal rounded out the year in second place overall. Traci Pickens added to her all-time leading women’s ATV racing record with her 12th GNCC WXC championship aboard her GBC Motorsports / Fly Racing / Yamaha YFZ450R, with seven first-place finishes this season. While officially crowned champions at the GNCC finale at Ironman Raceway on October 26, Fowler and Pickens both clinched their respective championships in September. In the GNCC XC2 Pro-Am ATV class, Yamaha’s YFZ450R swept the podium for the year, with John Glauda Jr., Drew Landers, and Jordan Poplaskie finishing first, second, and third respectively.
In support of GNCC’s annual breast cancer awareness and fundraising efforts at the Ironman round in Indiana, Yamaha committed $50 for each Yamaha win, and an additional $50 for each Yamaha championship claimed at the series finale. With 27 Yamaha racers claiming championships and 30 races winning with Yamaha vehicles in the weekend finale, Yamaha donated a total of $2,850 supporting local breast cancer care and research for the Montgomery County Community Foundation, FAITH Alliance Fund.
Yamaha bLU cRU ATV racers, Chad Wienen and Thomas Brown represented Team USA at the 2019 Quadcross of Nations on October 5 and 6 in Schwedt, Germany, where they won their third straight championship for the United States. Wienen and Brown also represented Yamaha earlier this year in the AMA Pro ATV MX series, where they finished the series on the podium in second and third, respectively, riding the Yamaha YFZ450R. Second Annual XT-R Challenge Showcases Yamaha’s Proven Off-Road Prowess
Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, brought out the red carpet, along with major mud and off-road obstacles, for Grizzly, Wolverine, and YXZ owners earlier this month during the second annual Yamaha Extreme Terrain Challenge (XT-R Challenge) at the iconic Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
The three-day event was filled with Yamaha owners, enthusiasts, family, and friends, featuring a festive atmosphere complete with live entertainment, camping, Yamaha giveaways and demos, instructional classes, and extreme fun.
Based on the success of the inaugural XT-R Challenge in 2018, Yamaha upped the ante in 2019 with new obstacles and nearly double the off-road course length at just under 22 miles. In addition to piloting through the undulating woods and mountainous terrain, this year’s XT-R Challenge’s obstacles included:
“The Wash Out”:
A very tight, narrow, and winding Side-by-Side (SxS) trail in a gully, requiring ultimate skill, capability, and finesse to navigate.
“The YamaHollar”:
A section comprised of traversing a lengthy pile of boulders, several logs, stacked and staggered culverts, bulldozer tires, and mud.
“The Wolverine Ravine”:
Featured climbing a rock face followed by numerous log crossings in a semi-circle shape, then balancing over parallel logs before descending a rocky log pile and heading back into the woods.
“The WARN Winch” obstacle:
With the aid of WARN Industries professionals, this obstacle required the use of a winch due to the steep grade, powdery-soft dirt, and very large off-camber log crossings.
“Winch Way”:
Over 100 yards of soupy, sloppy, sticky, and deep mud.
Yamaha’s XT-R Challenge – now an annual celebration of fun, family, and superior off-road capability – put YXZ1000R and Wolverine SxS drivers and their co-pilots up against the demanding natural and manmade obstacles while spectators cheered them on. A first this year, Yamaha Grizzly owners got in the mix, kicking off Saturday’s festivities through the rugged and diverse trails in the Tennessee hill country. This year also included tutorials by WARN Industries, the stock winch on the all-new XT-R Edition Yamahas, with a “Winching 101” class and Bama Grill Master Tim Van Doren on outdoor adventure cooking with Camp Chef, along with a display by the tire manufacturer GBC Motorsports, also equipped on select 2020 XT-R models.
“This event is truly extreme – from the off-road course to the Yamaha customers who show up to challenge themselves and prove their Yamaha ATV and Side-by-Sides are the most off-road capable machines in their respective classes,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s motorsports group marketing manager. “Considering the terrain and motorsports history, Loretta Lynn’s Ranch is the perfect spot for the XT-R Challenge with some amazing natural off-roading elements complimenting the crew’s creativity to make the course and obstacles a blast to ride, and we’re seeing folks coming in from throughout the U.S. to enjoy it all.”
Yamaha is already planning the next Extreme Terrain Challenge, and dates will be announced in early 2020.Every Yamaha SxS and full-size ATV is proudly Assembled in the USA at Yamaha’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Newnan, Georgia, for worldwide distribution.

A hunting scenario a lot of people can’t control, that they don’t necessarily think as much about is, their clothing in a hunting situation. They’ve spent all summer practicing at the range, in the early fall, they’re wearing a light jacket, light clothing. Then next thing you know, they’re out in a hunting situation, and it is cold, they’ve got tons of gear on, and they’ve put gloves on for the first time. They’ve never pulled the trigger with the gloves! They’ve never raised their handgun into a position to take a shot with all that clothes on and it’s binding and it feels different and the entire summer of practice, and the entire early fall, it kind of goes out the window.
We highly suggest spending some time shooting with gloves if you think you’re going to be wearing gloves in a hunting situation. We know when it’s cold, we’re gonna have our gloves on. Because the entire handgun is going to feel different. From how you load it, to how the trigger feels, to how you reload. Everything about it is gonna be a little more cumbersome and you’re gonna feel like you’re fumbling a little bit, so don’t forget to practice with your gloves on. And if you’ll spend some time preparing for that different feel, it will pay off. You know, because repetitive practice in anything, is gonna help you be more successful.

Spacious Design and Veil Camo Option Lead Content Features
Hunting Made Easy has introduced a large, 3-person blind to their pop-up ground blind line. Engineered to deliver the function and features demanded by serious whitetail and turkey hunters, the HME 3-person ground blind provides ample room for multiple hunters or anyone who prefers a spacious blind for accommodating gear and making for a comfortable day afield.
Available in the new Veil Cervidae camo pattern or a photo-realistic hardwood pattern, the HME 3-Person Ground Blind offers a broad 6′ 3″ overall shooting width. Dual-track independent horizontal windows allow hunters to cover a wide shooting range with a bow, rifle, or shotgun. Both the top and bottom halves of the windows can be raised or lowered for a customized shooting portal. There is also a small “peek-hole” window on the backside so you can stealthily check game coming from behind the blind and prepare for the shot. The blind also offers over 5-1/2 feet of center height, providing ample head and bowroom when shooting from a seated position.
75″ X 75″ X 67″ Pop-Up Ground Blind in Cervidae Camo
Featuring a conventional pop-out framework construction, the HME 3-Person Ground Blind is made of a 300 D brushed fabric shell that is water-resistant and built to withstand repeated seasonal use. Sewn-in brush loops along the exterior lets you use local foliage to further break up the outline and blend “deeper” into the natural environment. A blackout interior minimizes ambient light inside the blind to provide hunters with an added layer of concealment.
The HME 3-Person Ground Blind includes additional features today’s hunters appreciate. Built-in loft pockets inside the blind are ideal for securing ozone-generating devices for those who wish to incorporate scent concealment. For noise reduction, silent window sliders allow the viewing screens to be quietly lowered in preparation for the shot.
