TenPoint’s NEW Stealth® NXT Headlines TenPoint’s Next Generation

TenPoint Crossbow Technologies’ New 2018 Stealth NXT is the company’s narrowest and most accurate crossbow to date. Measuring an ultra-narrow 6-inches wide, the Stealth NXT unleashes devastating speeds up to 410 feet-per-second, generating jaw-dropping 144 foot-pounds of kinetic energy and match-grade down-range accuracy on a shot 3x quieter than the competition.

“Shooting up to 410 feet-per-second at 6-inches wide, the Stealth NXT is an incredible crossbow,” said Rick Bednar, TenPoint CEO. “The combination of width, speed, accuracy, and noise make the Stealth NXT the premier crossbow in the marketplace.”

Fueled by new XR6 cams and featuring Vector Quad cable technology, the NXT bow assembly is the difference maker for this top-of-the-line crossbow. The newly designed, maximum rotation cam system powers the assembly’s DUAL FLEX limbs to produce speeds up to a devastating 410 feet-per-second. Meanwhile, the assembly’s revolutionary Vector Quad cable technology utilizes four cables instead of the traditional two for increased strength and stability. Connecting at the cam, wrapping around the turnbuckle, and terminating on the riser, the cable system balances torsion and tension to essentially eliminate cam lean, generating pin-point accuracy.

The bow assembly’s foundation is a lightweight CNC machined aluminum riser featuring the company’s 70/75-T6 aircraft grade aluminum TRI-LOCK pocket system that ensures perfect alignment between the pocket and limbs for increased accuracy. Furthermore, utilizing the company’s CX5 connection system, the riser attaches to the barrel in five different locations to prevent front-end movement and aid in down-range accuracy.

The bow assembly is mounted to a black anodized, 21.5-inch TAC-LITE aluminum barrel that dramatically reduces weight, noise, and vibration. It is fitted with the company’s 3 ½ lb. auto-engaging safety trigger housed in a lightweight machined aluminum trigger box. Its weaver-style dovetail is fitted with a nylon-filament arrow retention brush that improves arrow grip and alignment to further reduce noise and vibration and improve accuracy. Like all TenPoint models, the trigger assembly is equipped with a DFI (Dry-Fire-Inhibitor). A reversible, integrated string stop system is also included to reduce noise and vibration.

The Stealth NXT features TenPoint’s lightweight, three-piece C3 stock. Designed to reduce weight, noise, and vibration, the high-tech stock is molded from carbon-fiber-infused PolyOne OnForce fitted with an adjustable cheek piece and butt plate. The rubber cheek piece adjusts to three separate positions by removing the screws and sliding it to create perfect eye-level alignment. Likewise, the rubber butt plate adjusts to two positions to match the shooter’s length-of-pull.

The bow and stock assemblies combine to create a crossbow every hunter dreams of shouldering – weighing in at 7.3-pounds, measuring only 33.6-inches long without foot stirrup, and shooting up to a supercharged 410 feet-per-second.

Like all TenPoint models, this model is equipped with glass-reinforced nylon safety wings located on the stock above the grip to help keep the shooter’s fore-grip hand safely below the arrow flight deck.

Double-dip fluid imaged in True Timber® Viper Western camo, the Stealth NXT ships completely assembled and is available as a Standard package or an Elite package.

Balancing Deer Nutrition

Nutrition is the foundation for maintaining healthy productive deer and elk populations.

It is important to provide a well-balanced wildlife feed that provides all the nutrient classes in proper amounts to meet your animal’s needs.

Deer, like all ruminant animals, eat to meet their energy needs. The need for energy drives daily intake. It’s this need, and the appeal of palatability that influences what a deer eats. Deer may need to eat more of a low-energy feed in order to meet their demand for calories. Likewise, deer may need to eat less of a higher-quality, higher-energy feed. Since deer eat to meet an energy requirement, the other nutrients (fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals) must be in proportion with the energy amount, so that the deer gets what it needs of all nutrients in the amount of feed that it will eat. For instance, a high-energy low-protein feed will not provide enough protein because the deer will eat only until its energy requirement is met. A high-energy, low-fiber feed (such as corn) can actually get your deer in trouble if they eat too much at once.

Deer also like to eat what is palatable. Given a choice, they will eat the more palatable feed, even if the less palatable feed contains more of the nutrients they need. Corn is a perfect example of a highly palatable but nutritionally deficient feed that deer will eat before eating almost anything else, even to their own detriment.

When choosing a feed, it’s important to review the feeding rate. While a certain feed may have a higher price per bag, it may cost less per year because deer will need to eat less. On the other hand, a feed that has been cheapened up by increasing the fiber and ash content will have an appealing price tag but may end up costing more in the long run because you will have to feed more of it. Feeding deer large amounts of something inexpensive and palatable like corn will also cost in lost productivity and antler growth. Making sure deer get the balanced nutrition they need year-round can result in optimal antler growth and health, maximizing production and profitability.
