Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative Awards Over $115,000 in Third Quarter

Yamaha Eclipses $4 Million in Aiding Land Access for Outdoor Recreation Since Inception

Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, announces it is awarding more than $115,000 to nine organizations, bringing Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative’s (OAI) funding total to $4 million in grants since 2008. Together with public land managers, Yamaha Motorsports dealers, and thousands of outdoor enthusiasts, Yamaha OAI supplies much-needed funding and support to help those working to protect access to public land for outdoor recreation at the local, state, and federal level.

To date, the program has funded over 350 projects across the nation and Yamaha continues to seek OAI grant submissions for projects from ATV, Side-by-Side, motorcycle, snowmobile, and outdoor enthusiasts and associations – all of whom share the common need for land access to enjoy their lifestyle. Projects receiving OAI grants often have a strong stewardship component, as well as an inclusive community of users working together, ensuring all types of outdoor recreationists can enter public land sustainably and safely. All nonprofit or tax-exempt outdoor recreation groups and land stewardship organizations can inquire and, if appropriate, apply for funding at YamahaOAI.com.

“Consistent effort to protect, improve, and increase access to our public lands is necessary for sustaining outdoor recreation opportunities for all, and Yamaha has more than a decade of experience showing we’re the reliable and available resource working on these issues,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s Motorsports marketing manager. “With the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative surpassing the $4 million funding mark, we’re elated and even more committed to its mission:  providing support for efforts promoting safe, responsible use of OHVs, educating the public on proper recreational land use and wildlife conservation practices, and protecting appropriate and sustainable access to public lands.”

Yamaha is awarding more than $115,000 in the current funding cycle to support efforts protecting and improving admittance to public land and educating the public on safe, sustainable recreational use by all. About the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative

For more than a decade, the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative has led the Powersports industry in guaranteeing responsible access to our nation’s land for outdoor enthusiasts. Through this program, Yamaha has, directly and indirectly, supported thousands of miles of motorized recreation trails, maintained and rehabilitated riding and hunting areas, improved staging areas, supplied agricultural organizations with essential OHV safety education, built bridges over fish-bearing streams and partnered with local outdoor enthusiast communities across the country to improve access to public lands. Each quarter, Yamaha accepts applications from nonprofit or tax-exempt organizations including OHV riding clubs and associations, national, state and local public land use agencies, outdoor enthusiast associations and land conservation groups with an interest in protecting, improving, expanding and/or maintaining access for safe, responsible and sustainable public use. A committee then reviews each application and awards grants to deserving projects. Examples of appropriate projects for grants include, but are not limited to:

  • Trail development, restoration, and maintenance
  • Trail signage and map production
  • Staging area construction, renovation, and maintenance
  • Land stewardship, safety, and education

TenPoint Launches Their Shortest Forward-Draw Crossbow with 400 Feet-Per-Second and Safe De-Cocking in
NEW Viper S400

TenPoint Crossbow Technologies launched the NEW Viper S400 at the 2020 ATA Show in Indianapolis, Indiana.  TenPoint’s shortest forward-draw crossbow ever produced, the Viper S400 measures just 32-inches in length yet delivers speeds up to 400 FPS and features the NEW revolutionary ACUslide cocking and de-cocking system.  The super-compact crossbow measures an ultra-narrow 7.2-inches wide and weighs an incredible half-pound less than previous TenPoint flagship models.

“The new Viper S400 is the perfect compact crossbow without feeling too short.  It is light weight, fast, and flat-out accurate.” said Rick Bednar, TenPoint CEO.  “In addition, the new ACUslide system is the best cocking and de-cocking system on the market.”

The NEW ACUslide features our groundbreaking AutoBrake Gear System, which allows for silent cocking and safe and controlled de-cocking of the crossbow.  The Auto-Brake Gear System eliminates the potential of losing control which can lead to injury or costly bow damage during the de-cocking process. When de-cocking with the ACUslide, the user can remove their hand from the handle at any point, with no other action required– and the handle and will stop in place.

The NEW 7 ½-inch XTEND Adjustable Crank Handle reduces cocking effort to 5-pounds and stores securely into the butt-stock.

The ACUslide system is integrated into the company’s NEW TEC-X stock.  The high strength-to-weight ratio of the NEW stock reduces the weight of the Viper S400 to 7.5-pounds – a half-pound lighter than previous TenPoint flagship models.

Fueled by RX6-Cams™, the forward-draw bow assembly is the difference maker for TenPoint’s fastest traditional crossbow. The innovative cam system rotates an industry leading 340-degrees which powers the DUAL FLEX™ limbs to produce speeds up to 400 feet-per-second. The assembly’s revolutionary Vector-Quad™ cable technology utilizes four cables instead of the traditional two which eliminates cam lean and generates straight-nock travel leading to same-hole downrange accuracy.

A lightweight CNC machined 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum riser featuring the company’s TRI-LOCK™ pocket system ensures perfect alignment between the pocket and limbs for further increased accuracy.

The bow assembly is mounted to a NEW ultra-short 17-inch MICRO-TRAC™ fluted aluminum barrel which reduces the flight deck surface by an incredible 50%.  The minimal string-to-barrel contact provides the longest string life in the industry.

The new barrel is fitted with the company’s NEW S1 3.5-pound, two-stage trigger that delivers a crisp, consistent break. The trigger is equipped with a DFI™ (Dry-Fire-Inhibitor) and is fitted with a nylon-filament arrow retention brush that improves arrow grip and alignment to reduce noise and vibration. An integrated string stop system is also included to further reduce noise and vibration.

Fully assembled, the crossbow weighs just 7.5-pounds, measures only 32-inches (w/o stirrup) in length and shoots up to 400 feet-per-second.

Decorated in Veil® Alpine camo or Graphite Gray, the Viper S400 ships completely assembled and includes a Ready-To-Hunt package.

ScentFIRE: The New Way to Disperse Scent

One of Conquest Scents‘ newest products to up your scent control game is the all-new ScentFIRE. The ScentFIRE heats scent liquid turning it into a vapor which then dispenses periodically into the air… that scent vapor, like the aroma of cooking foods, is much stronger and more likely to reach distant deer, especially when continuously dispersed.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. FIRE IT UP

Screw scent cartridge into the ScentFIRE chamber where the scent is heated into a vapor. ScentFIRE quickly heats liquid scent turning it into a long-ranging, strong-smelling vapor. The ScentFIRE vaporizer takes pre-filled cartridges of EverCalm, VS-1, or RuttingBuck that each last approximately 50 hours on 3-minute mode.

2. FIRE IT OFF

Position ScentFIRE in a strategic position. The Scent Fire can be placed on the ground, screwed into a tree, placed on a small tripod, or mounted on a telescopic pole to increase scent dispersal. It will automatically dispense scent every 90 seconds (adjustable), or use it manually via the remote control (included). ScentFIRE uses three AA batteries (not included) and operates approx. 40 hours on 3-minute mode.

3. FIRE ‘EM UP

Long-lasting, strong-smelling scent vapors travel great distances to entice deer. There are 3 dispersal modes: 3 min, 1 min, and standby; it can also be fired off manually.

Learn more about Conquest Scent’s ScentFIRE in a recent Deer Gear Episode “New Items in Deer Hunting 2019” here.
